You do not have to destroy it. Even minor interference can count if it actually causes harm or serious inconvenience.
Mistake is not a defense. Grabbing the wrong laptop at Starbucks still makes you a tortfeasor.
General intent is enough. You meant to grab it, move it, or ride it into the sunset? That is all we need.
No actual evil required. Good motives still get you sued.
